This team member is responsible for supervising the rehabilitation department staff, overseeing the provision, documentation, and billing of therapy services in compliance with Federal and State Laws, Regulations, and Practice Acts.
Additionally, they contribute to the hiring, orientation, and training of staff therapists, therapy assistants, and rehabilitation aides.
Key
Responsibilities:
Screen and conduct in-depth evaluations of residents' rehabilitation potential, making written recommendations for interdisciplinary care planning and treatment.
Inform residents or their qualified representatives about care and treatment plans, explaining potential outcomes and addressing concerns if a resident refuses participation in a therapy program.
Develop treatment plans and administer treatments in accordance with physicians' orders and rehabilitation goals, maintaining necessary communication with physicians.
Oversee the preparation of evaluations, progress notes, care plans, and discharge summaries for residents receiving physical therapy, ensuring compliance with state, federal, and facility policies.
Review each resident's status at least quarterly to assess the need for revising rehabilitation aspects of the care plan.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to integrate rehabilitation goals into the comprehensive care plan.
Maintain a clinical caseload with a minimum of 35% productivity.
Attend required meetings, in-services, programs, and general orientation.
Address clinical, fiscal, and customer service outcomes and develop action plans to rectify underperformance.
Who Will Be a Great Fit? Must be either a Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, or Speech Therapist with professional education from an accredited curriculum and a baccalaureate degree.
New York State-specific license to practice is required.
Possess the ability to teach, inspire, and motivate others, along with leadership qualities.
Ability to organize workload, delegate assignments, and promote teamwork.
Interest in working with the elderly and a commitment to respecting residents' rights during care and treatment services.
