Summary:
The Whey Department Operator role is trained to perform the basic mechanical functions and understand the required Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) for all operator roles within the Whey Department.
Our skilled operators are expected to develop an expert level knowledge on the functioning and troubleshooting for their machine and/or area.
Schedule:
This position requires the ability to move between shifts (1st, 2nd, and 3rd) on a daily and/or weekly basis as needed.
Leprino Foods is a 24/7 operating facility, and the employee must be willing and able to work weekends, holidays, and other shifts as necessary.
Pay Rate:
$26.
59 per hour $0.
75 Evening Pay Differential for every evening hour worked between 3:
00pm-6:
00am $0.
50 Weekend Pay Differential for every hour worked Saturday & Sunday
Responsibilities:
Operate the separator, evaporator, dryer, bagging system, and CIP system Operate the separator, evaporator, dryer, bagging system, and CIP system Start up and shut down the machinery, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements Complete daily checklists Take timely samples to the lab for analysis and obtain results in a timely manner.
React to all results and notify and out of spec conditions to the Team Lead or Supervisor.
Handle and test chemicals Enter data into MES computer system.
Ability to troubleshoot all equipment and identify potential problems.
Communicate problems to Department management.
Follow all GMP's and work in a safe manner.
Report any unsafe conditions.
Ensure proper housekeeping through a clean work area.
Ensure no product or chemical leaks.
Other duties as assigned Requirements:
Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
Ability to pass a physical abilities test to assess ability to bend, reach, lift, pull, and climb stairs/ladders as required for the position.
Must be able to work Sunday - Saturday, off-shifts, weekends, holidays, and required overtime to support a 24 hour/7 day operation.
Preferred skills:
Experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
Background or aptitude towards maintenance or mechanical functions.
Proficient computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office products.
Familiarity or ability to learn SAP, or similar integrated manufacturing system.
Prior food industry experience.
Physical Demands & Environment:
This position will be exposed to working in a wet/slippery environment with loud noise in varying degrees of temperature.
Must be able to withstand high heat and humidity.
Specific vision may be required for this position, including close vision, distance vision, color and depth perception, and the ability to read computer screens for extended time periods.
Ability to pass a physical abilities test to assess ability to bend, reach, lift, pull, and climb stairs/ladders.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs hourly, climb a ladder, and walk up/down stairs regularly.
